Chocolate Cravings? Come This Way . . . . . .

Protein shakes are the most used supplement out there, more specifically whey protein – of that there is no doubting. However as good as a regular protein shake tastes these days (especially PhD & Gaspari!!) I often wonder why people would drink such a great tasting thing when they could make a delicious tasting snack out of it. Below I am about to share my 3 tastiest recipes with one ingredient in all of them – protein powder!

Chocolate Nut & Berry Soufflé

It sounds tantalisingly spectacular and it is, but it also sounds fat inspiring – it isn’t! This is a recipe which required approximately 120 seconds of your precious time and the cooking skills of a cave man. If you ever get a craving for cake this is your best option, it will certainly hit the nail on the head.

5 egg whites

1 scoop chocolate whey protein

15g smashed walnuts

25g blueberries

2 teaspoons stevia

Stir thoroughly and microwave for 60-90 seconds

Add 1 heaped tablespoon of crunchy peanut butter on top and microwave for another 60 seconds.

This creates an amazingly tasty, gooey, chocolaty dessert which sends your cravings through the floor and makes you wonder if you are cheating it tastes that good!!

Hot Peanut Chocolate Mousse

Again, the level of simplicity means that even a goat could successfully prepare this dessert within around 60 seconds and make it taste great! This recipe is ideal for later in the day when you might get a craving for something warm and sweet and a black coffee just won’t do!

1 heaped tablespoon crunchy peanut butter microwaved for 60 seconds

Add 1.5 scoops chocolate protein powder

Add 1-2 tablespoons of hot water, just below boiling point (to prevent the denaturing of the whey protein)

1 teaspoon stevia STIR!

This is such a simple recipe which delivers a particularly great tasting mousse and the fact it is hot makes it all the more enjoyable.

White Chocolate & Strawberry Cheesecake

When the cravings are running wild for something like cheesecake or ice cream I find myself climbing the walls thinking of what I could possibly enjoy instead. This is when I developed this recipe into what it is today, a mind blowing guilt free high protein snack! Even when I diet I will generally have this on a daily basis, sometimes twice a day if I am training legs!!

75g quark cheese

1.5 scoops white chocolate whey protein

25g chopped strawberries

1 heaped tablespoon of crunchy peanut butter

Drop of water

STIR! This took a lot of effort to share the last recipe because whilst I am stuck in Mumbai, India for another 14 days I am unable to enjoy this snack and right now I would be willing to pay about £500 for it!!

Another reason to enjoy a healthy lifestyle and a solution to one of the most feared parts of ‘’dieting’’ – cravings.
