Chocolate is undoubtedly delicious like no other food! Every mouth full injects waves of intense flavour throughout your body, but it also fills your body with sugar. Talk about a dilemma, you can’t live without the taste but you can’t live with the sugar content as an avid athlete. What do you do? Well, as a sucker for sinful pleasure myself I also enjoy chocolate, a bit too much in fact. Therefore I am often forced to learn about recipes which will satisfy my desire for the ultimate betrayal, whilst keeping my body ‘Speedo friendly’ at the same time! From trail and error, below you will my top 2 chocolate based snacks!

Who doesn’t like brownies? This single food is probably the most agonising of them all for me to turn down when I am dieting! Why? Maybe the irresistible scent which leaks from the oven when they are being baked hypnotises me!!! So I HAD to find a way I could enjoy brownies guilt free because they are just too damn good to not have in my life! I’m sure a lot of you can relate to this! This recipe has to be the best I have used and believe me, I have tried them all! Sure there are calories in the form of fats and carbohydrates in these brownies; however the majority are healthy mono-unsaturated fats and low G.I carbohydrates. Depending on your goals, these brownies can make a great mid day snack!

Chocolate flapjacks

As an athlete I love oats which is lucky considering they are an essential staple in most athletes’ diets! However, sometimes chocolate protein powder mixed with my oats like porridge doesn’t beat my cravings away. Therefore I searched high and low for a guilt free chocolate flapjack recipe!

1/2 cup of LOW sugar coco powder

60g of oats
