“ A great protein which, in my opinion, forms the base of a few other great PhD protein products. I go for the strawberry flavour as I don't fancy choc flavour. It tastes quite sweet to begin with compared to other protein shakes like USN, but you get used to it and after a while you don't notice the sweetness. Overall, it mixes really well, in e.g. 30 seconds and doesn't get lumpy. Whilst the instructions advise to take between 2-3 scoops of the protein, I tend to use one full scoop and leave it for 10-15 mins so it thickens... Unless you looking to overload on protein, this has the same effect as using 3 scoops but you don't use up the tub as quickly;-). However, the best thing about this protein though is it doesn't leave you really bloated and 'full'. This is key for me as I normally have a protein shake after a gym session and I'm still good to eat a balanced meal some 30-45 mins after. I have experienced good gains on this protein whilst keeping body fat at approx 7-8%. For me, this protein shake seems to reduce muscle fatigue and aches, whilst also boosting energy etc, which is key for the back-to-back sessions on saturday and sunday. Just finishing my second tub of this great protein and will be ordering another very soon. Highly recommended product and retailer here (great website, cheap products, rapid delivery). “ I've always steered clear of anything with the word gain in it as never wanted to go massive. But got this when it was on a deal with Methy7. I love it. Vanilla smells and tastes great. I use it after an early morning training session as have always suffered with hunger after morning sessions. It hits the mark. I also use it if I'm running out of time to eat a 'real' meal. ”

“ I have been training for a Judo competition and had the choice of cutting weight or gaining as I was sitting pretty much in the middle of weight categories. With Pharma Gain I have managed to go from 68kg of not so lean muscle mass to 72kg of lean muscle in about 2 months. Doesn't sound a huge amount but when you consider how much I am training its difficult to get in enough good calories in the day. Another bonus is it genuinely tastes great. Even if it wasn't a protein shake you would still drink it. ”

“ I would have never believed anyone if they told me how quick this product starts to work.I have only been taking it for one week using two 100g servings a day already my muscles feel much fuller and more solid also my weights and reps have increased so i know the REAL gains are still to come.Only negatives are the cost the 2.27kg tub last about 2 weeks if you take 2 100g servings a day.Also the flavour although it is delicious in a taste test i would never guess it was vanilla? Apart from that this is a high quality product from PHD they are now my number one brand for by a long way. ”

“ Top marks all round, Have seen some genuine gains from this product. It is also very very drinkable, a lot of mass gainers for me are really hard to drink often and leave me feeling sick. This tastes absolutely great with water. Overall I am extremely happy with this and won't hesitate to buy it again! ”

“ Have been using for around 8 weeks, and I have gained 7kg (1.1 stone) - which I think is good because I am a 6' 4" hard gainer who's starting weight was 78kg (12st 10 - very light for my height). The only drawbacks are that it is a little pricey compared to others, and the tubs could be a little bigger than they are. As for mixability the strawberry is the best shake i've ever tasted if i mix it with a kitchen knife, but it doesn't shake mix very well. Although I have tryed 1 chocolate shake and it was like drinking cement (would not recommend that flavour). As others have said it does give you pretty bad farts, but as they say you gotta make some sacrifices to get the results you want. As long as your phd farts aren't continuing on into your saturday night where you are out showing off your results in the pubs in clubs then you will be fine. Would recommend the strawberry to anyone who is struggling to find a shake they like, find really drinkable and most importantly provides effective results! ”

“ As always with phd, it tastes brilliant and it mixes fairly well although there are is the occasional small lump. But other than that, there are no problems with it, great substitute for when i cant fit a meal in. ”

“ This was my second PhD product (My first was Synergy) Have to say that I prefer synergy they seemed to produce around the same muscle gain results however, synergy keep fat at a low. I find it always hard to rate the effectiveness of a product because of changing wrokouts etc. so do not take my review for effectiveness by law but the results were average. Value, £30 was very cheap for a PhD product to 5*. If I had to buy Synergy or Pharma Gain again I would definitely choose Synergy! ”

“ Been using this product a while because of its low price for how much you are getting, also knew that PHD was a very good brand, have put on about 1 stone and 5lbs in 4 months (now 12st 6lbs), and noticed lots of strength gains, the product tastes great in vanilla and works great as a meal replacment and a post gym shake, fills you up without making you feel lathargic, would highly reccommend ”

“ I have been supplementing with Pharma Gain for 9 weeks now and have seen an increase in strength and muscle mass. I use it first thing in the morning with a bowl of porridge, a shake mid morning, lunch, a shake mid afternoon, after training and before bed. I use Pharma Gain to increase my calorie and protein intake each day. When I started training I could bench press 40kg for 10 reps easily, now i'm benching 80kg for 8 reps easily. Alongside Pharma Gain I supplement with BSN No Xplode and firmly believe this extra shake pre workout really helps focus, strength, stamina and muscle pumps. As I say i'm purely training for size and strength and these two supplements work together very well indeed. Typical rep ranges I use for strength training is 8-8-6-4 each set increasing the weight and mainly compound movements like bench,deadlift,squat,lat pull etc etc. So in summary i would recommend these supplements to anybody. Its all about training and eating right. ”
