Why buy Optimum Nutrition 100% Egg protein 909g?

Monster View

The Optimum Nutrition 100% egg protein is a great protein, perfect for an alternative to whey protein is you can't digest that efficiently and a great amino acid profile too! To be fair the flavour is pretty good which you may not expect from an egg protein product, we think this may be down to the fact that it's instantised so it's extremely easy to mix. Great work ON. 5 stars

Egg Protein is a popular choice with many fitness athletes, intolerances to whey make egg protein a valuable source, this offers high BV value and are easily digested.

Nutritionist commonly refer to eggs as the "Golden Standard" for protein quality. Eggs contain all of the eight essential amino acids (the type that your body cannot make from other substances) and very high levels of total amino acids - especially important sulfur-containing aminos. Eggs are also readily digested and absorbed. As a lactose-free protein source, eggs are often more tolerable to people who have trouble with dairy foods. For these and other reasons, eggs have been a staple of bodybuilders diets since the beginnning of the sport.

100% Egg Protein contains the nutritional equivalent of seven egg whites and takes only 10 seconds to prepare. It provides a complete profile of essential Amino Acids, Branched Chain Amino Acids and Glutamic Acid.

“ I initially switched away from whey protein to see what the effects of dropping dairy from my diet would be. 6 months on and i wouldn't go back to consuming whey protein again. Not only do i feel less bloated and 'cloudy', but the results of egg protein seem to be relatively similar to that of whey. Whilst i recognise that whey is a 'quicker' protein than that of egg, in conjunction with an appropriate diet it's still win-win for me. It certainly has made me feel a million times better by removing a fair chuck of dairy consumption from my diet e.g. 2 whey shakes a day, every day. Switched from whey to this about 6 months ago due to wanted to drop dairy from my diet. Whilst I only initially intended to switch ”

Ask a Question
There are not many suppliments offering egg protein, is this because whey is better? iv'e heard however that much more protein from egg is digested, can you shed some light on this please, thanks db.
whey is considered now to be the "best" form of protein and therefore is heavily advertised and marketed as the best. however egg has its place as well. whey protein is digested too quickly to be fully absorbed so yes you are absoloutely right, egg protein is absorbed more effectively and therefore more of it is utilised by the muscle for growth. it is not as fast acting so post-workout it is not as good as whey, however for during the day it is actually superior in my opinion. i would mix one scoop of whey with 1 scoop of egg protein for best results. -AC-

What do I mix this with? I do like Milk and don't imagine it to be nice with water? A freind had some once and it made the office stink so am a little concerned that if I buy it, I won't like it.
mix it with milk or water. if you dont think you'll like it then go for a whey protein like the gold standard whey that will taste nicer. -AC-

I wanted to know if this product would be best for me. I am a slim built, 25 year old male who has trouble gaining weight, maintaining muscle. I have used protein shakes and so on and got good results but I want something more natural or easily digestible.
yes a very good product, but you may be best with reflex natural whey

Is this calcium free protein? looking for a shake for before bed and in the morning so i can take zma at the same time thanks
hi david. im afraid not. ther eis no calcium free protein. simply take your ZMA an hour before bed and have your protein shake immediately before bed. this should be adequate time apart to not affect one another. Best regards -AC-

I have ulcerative colitis so have a real problem with digesting most protein shakes with this one being lactose free will it be any good for me??? or could u suggest any?
Hi Aaron Since egg protein is extremely bio available i would think that this would be suitable for you, however i would really reccomend speaking to your GP about this first Regards Rich
