Im about to start my training regime next week. I am 19 years old, 5 foot 10 and weigh 9 stones. Im going to be eating the standard 3 meals a day, with a snack in between each meal.

Hi, I've been using progain for a week now and have noticed weight gain taking the recommended 2 scoops a day, however, I've been taking an extra 200g of carbs per day in my diet through brown rice potatoes etc (aswell as 200g protein) and have noticed my gut getting a little bit fat, should I lower my carb intake? I think NONE OF THE PROGAIN FLAVOURS ARE SUITABLE FOR VEGETERIANS. you keep contradicting yourself, you have told one person that the chocolate is not suitable for veggies and then you tell someone else that choc and vanilla are?? the flavouring does not make a diffrence, as the ingredients are the same. progain has glutamine, which is not for veggies! so why are you telling people it is??
actually flavouring is usually what does make the difference as some flavours are made from animal extracts rather than plants. strawberry usually is made from animal based flavourings. and glutamine is in all protein, it is an essential amino acid and is the most abundant amino acid produced in the human body. it is derived from milk proteins in this case so im not sure where you got the idea all glutamine is unsuitable for vegetarians.

get your bodyfat percentage checked regularly. if that goes up you are putting on fat. if it goes down you are increasing lean muscle. the switching of the 2 is unneccessary as the benefits of the creatine etc in the progain extreme would not really kick in until the 3rd/4th week so it is best taken for longer periods than 2 weeks. -AC-

I have been using Promax diet with Thermobol and CLA to burn some fat which is working well. I stand at 5.11 and 12 stone. you cant add muscle whilst burning fat. the more fat you lose the harder it will be to lose more so you have to eat less and train more. in order to build muscle you need to increase the amount of food you are eating not reduce it. the 2 goals require opposite approaches to diet so will not work together. -AC-

No you can take upto 4 shakes a day thats fine. You shouldnt see any fat increase if your doing cardio and have a good diet. I would maybe leave the progain and just have a normal whey pre workout until you lose your bodyfat.. then you can try gain mass with progain.

What’s the best product to take if you want to build muscle, especially upper body muscle, whilst not putting on fat. I have abit of a belly which is slowly getting toned. I take 3 servings of promax a day with 3 thermobols and 4 CLA-1000 caps to help burn fat around my belly and boost my slow metabolism. I take zma on a night. I do 30 mins of HIIT cardio 6 days a week and two swimming sessions. I spend 3 days on upper body weight training (arms, shoulders, pecs) and 3 days lower body (abs).
