Pancake Day - Go Against The Grain!

Pancake Day, another national event celebrated with the excess consumption of junk food. Don’t get me wrong, I love to tuck into a stack of pancakes as much as the next guy but that doesn’t mean I cannot be responsible enough to find a better option. The actual content of this article is aimed at making better choices on days like today and enjoying the food without hampering your goals – but first a little insight. Most of the time when we indulge ourselves it is unnecessary, we are chasing the flavour of the food not the goliath macro and calorie content of a ‘’heart attack on a plate.’’

With that said why not open your mind up to enjoying tasty food which is made with better ingredients? Shovelling crap down your throat is something of the past. If it isn’t necessary, don’t do it! Pancake Day is certainly one of the days where you can make healthy alternatives which also taste incredible! Today you are going to be given 3 delicious pancake recipes, try them and see if I am lying!!

White Chocolate & Blueberry Delight

In India I my client enjoyed tasty food, he was a past obesity statistic which meant he had an eye for something sweet. This was one of the recipes I gave him which we enjoyed together for a large part of my stay in India; I think you will find it tastes awesome too!! This is a perfect post-workout meal.

8 egg whites

50g oats

50g dried blueberries

½ glass almond milk

1 scoop white chocolate whey

BLEND

Chocolate & Strawberry Delight

This recipe is for those who don’t want the carbs in the previous recipe. This just goes to show even on a low carb diet you can enjoy your diet massively. This is a recipe I will use frequently to have as a dessert or as a means to suppress cravings for something sweet.

8 egg whites

50g almond flour

½ glass almond milk

2 teaspoons stevia

1 scoop chocolate whey

BLEND

Serve warm with ½ cup of fresh strawberries

Vanilla, Nut & Kiwi Delight

This is a bit of an ‘’out there’’ recipe but it tastes great!! For those who want added texture and nutrition without compromise.

8 egg whites

50g almond flour

½ glass almond milk

2 teaspoons stevia

1 scoop vanilla whey protein

BLEND

Serve with 1 inside of a kiwi fruit & handful crushed walnuts
