Food is probably the most influential aspect to an athlete's progress. With that being said, it makes sense that you enjoy your food. Gone are the days where you eat what you 'have' to eat, even if it tastes like crap. There really is no need, you can make every muscle friendly meal taste great!
This week's recipe is what I would describe as the perfect trades man's dish! Back in the day I used to do labour work on building sites with my dad, therefore I know what it is like to diet on cold chicken and rice on a freezing winter's day! The difficulty is then multiplied when your mates are enjoying microwaved Cornish Pasties!
This one should bust every craving you have, even when it is cold, you feel weak and just want to cheat!
200g extra lean minced beef (fry like a pancake so it is nicely browned, using 1 cal extra virgin olive oil spray)
75g brown pasta
100g steamed broccoli
2 sliced mushrooms, 1/2 red onion, 1/2 red pepper (all fried with the beef)
30g peanuts in with the beef
When all of the ingredients are cooked, add them to another saucepan and chuck in 1/2 tin of LOW sugar tinned tomatoes. Let this heat up, stiring it frequently and BOOM!
This is a perfect lunch time meal for your guys on the building site, just throw it in the microwave for 2 minutes! ENJOY!
