Dieting for summer 07/07/2009

Hi everyone, i hope you have been holding up well it has been a week or so since the last post. I hope you have continued to train hard.

Over the past week i have been playing with my diet a little moving back to the anabolic style of dieting that served me so well last year, basically this means upping the fats in the diet and removing the carbs, last year i was very tight indeed and felt great, vascular and the strongest i have ever been. The stable of the diet for me are eggs, fish and beef with plenty of greens- indulging in some cheese and a little cream added to shakes is also allowed. Basically i am keeping my blood sugar stable with no insulin spikes.

Whats happened to training? Cardio in the morning is hard but i am carb depleted so this is expected now when it comes to lifting heres whats going on; i am stronger than two weeks ago and i am definately leaner, it is progress picture week this week so you can judge this for yourselves but it is an easy way of eating/living if you don’t get along with carbs then give it a go!

Supplements used are still straight whey protein, fat burners and BCAA’s. I am now clearer in the mind and have more stable energy levels.

Last night i trialled the new Hypertrophy range of lifting equipment- this will be arriving on monster over the next week or so, the lifting hooks were amazing, i normally suffer with the lifting strap wrist marks but with the padded hooks there was no evidence of even lifting inspite of completing 3 sets of one arm rows with the 60KG dumbells at 20 reps per set. I would urge everyone to try the hooks heavy duty and they added around 30 reps to my rows. Deadlift will be fun i think.

These small changes keep things fresh when repetition can be hard, when dieting it is a little like groundhog day but it is essential to diet to monitor year on year progress.

I will continue to log the progress and keep you updated on the switch to the anabolic style of eating.

Catch you soon, train hard JB
